Context and Emotions

A trader's performance does not depend solely on numbers. The mental factor and psychology are responsible for the majority of losses. Kaptur helps you record and analyze your emotions for every trade to detect destructive behavior patterns.

1. Recording Your Emotional State

For every transaction you log, the app allows you to record how you felt at that precise moment.

  1. When editing a trade or completing the post-scan questionnaire, navigate to the emotions section.
  2. Select the emoji that best describes your mindset at that moment:
    • 😌 Calm: You operated with peace, patience, and a cool head.
    • 😰 Anxious: You entered with nervousness, fear of losing, or hesitation.
    • 🚀 Euphoric: You felt overconfidence, greed, or exaggerated excitement.
    • 😡 Angry: You operated with anger or frustration after a previous stop loss.
    • 😞 Frustrated: You felt disappointment in yourself or general fatigue.
  3. The emotional state will be linked to the trade to enable cross-behavior analysis in your charts.

2. Psychological and Strategy Tag Cloud

Tags help you quickly identify the "why" behind an entry or exit:

  • Strategy Tags: Names of your technical setups (e.g., #Pullback, #Breakout, #EMARebound).
  • Psychological Tags: Identification of mental errors or successes (e.g., #FOMO, #Plan, #Revenge, #Impatience, #Discipline).

By selecting these tags, Kaptur will be able to associate your behavioral discipline with your monetary profits and losses.

3. The Pending Context Inbox

Importing orders quickly via screenshots is great, but if you forget to record tags and emotions, you lose the advantage of psychological analysis. To prevent this, Kaptur features the Pending Context Inbox.

  1. On the Playbook screen, you will see a priority card if you have incomplete transactions (Pending Context).
  2. Tap the card to open the inbox.
  3. You will see a list of cards in an accordion format. Only one card will expand at a time to prevent distractions.
  4. Complete the emotion, the strategy used, and the rules you respected.
  5. Tap the confirm button. The card will disappear from the list with an animation, and the next pending trade will expand automatically.
  6. Batch Action: If you want to ignore or postpone trades (for example, because they are from a very old date), you can select them by checking the corresponding boxes and tap Snooze or Skip in the bottom bar.
